Ashley Talmage

Ashley Talmage has studied dance for 22 years. ¬†She has a diverse dance education in ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, pointe, musical theater, hip hop and acro. She became a member of the American Youth Dance Company at age 8 and competed and performed nationwide for the next 10 years. She performed for various benefits such as Dancers Responding to AIDS (DRA) and the Governor’s Inaugural Ball. While in high school, Ashley participated in the Joffrey Ballet School Summer Intensive Program in NY, performing in contemporary and pointe pieces in Union Square Park & LaGuardia High School. She also performed in her high school musicals, Anything Goes and 42nd Street, under the direction of Julie and Karen. Ashley went on to receive her BA in Literature and Education from Ramapo College. While in college, Ashley performed as a New Jersey Devils Dancer for three years. She was named a Captain her third year when the Devils played against the L.A. Kings in the Stanley Cup Finals. Ashley also received the opportunity to perform alongside artists such as Jay Sean and Run-D.M.C. In addition, Ashley currently coaches the Lakeland Dance Team and lead them to win Nationals last year. She has received a Most Creative Choreography award for her work. Ashley is very excited to share her passion with her students and join the staff at Gateway!
