Policy

The Class & Lesson Policies that each student and/or parent has signed on registration is below. It explains Payments, Attendance, Make-ups, and procedures for Inclement Weather.

  • There is a $30 Registration Fee per family, per school year.

  • Tuition is due on the 25th of every month and each payment covers 4 weeks of lessons. (For a breakdown of the payment schedule, please see our Studio Calendar or ask at the office. We also include the session weeks in each tuition reminder email.)

For new students, the INITIAL registration payment (including the first session tuition and registration fee) must be made by cash or check. Once you are in our system, you will have the option to enroll in AutoPay, if you choose. We will also always accept cash or check throughout the season.

  • There will be no deductions or refunds for missed classes, regardless of the reason for absence. Credit is almost always given,  based on sole discretion of the owners.  Students who sign-up mid-session will be pro-rated. There are no refunds or transfers. We appreciate your cooperation on paying in full.

  • Consistent and prompt attendance is critical. Absences and tardiness can hold back an entire class, or hinder your individual progress. If you cannot attend your class or lesson for any reason, please email or call the studio prior to your scheduled time.

  • “BABY,” TODDLER,” and “BIG KID” CLASSES: A make-up can be done in ANY other age-appropriate, non-performance class during the session, based on availability. (ie: a baby enrolled in kindermusik may use a make-up in the “Baby & Me” yoga class, etc.) Make-ups must be scheduled ahead of time, through the office.

DANCE: In the event of an absence, a student may attend a make- up class (schedule permitting) prior to the start of Variety Show routines (for performance classes, usually the 1st or 2nd week of March). The make-up class must be arranged with the office ahead of time. You may contact the office to find out which class(es) you/your child may make-up in.

VOICE:  Missed Voice Lessons are to be made-up in the monthly Sight-Singing/Ear-Training Class held on Saturday Mornings from 10:30-11:30. Additional make-up Sight-Singing/Ear-Training Classes may be added, if schedule permits.

A schedule of these classes is available in the office. Please call, email, or see the front desk to sign up for these make-up classes.

  • In the event that the studio must close, the outgoing voicemail message will be changed. If possible, an email will go out and the website will be updated, but this is not always possible with power-outages and such. If you are in doubt, be sure to call the studio.

  • Participation in the Variety Show is NOT mandatory, but encouraged!

We do our best to work around conflicts, but once the Show Breakdown is distributed, students must be available for ALL of his/her scheduled performances AND for the MANDATORY dress rehearsal the weekend prior to the show in order to perform.

(Be SURE to look at the studio calendar and let us know about dress rehearsal/performance conflicts ASAP- conflicts are worked around on a first-come, first-served basis)

Costume Fees (which are minimal at Gateway To The Arts) and Tuition must be paid in full in order to perform in the Variety Show.
