Policy

The Class & Lesson Policies that each student and/or parent has signed on registration is below. It explains Payments, Attendance, Make-ups, and procedures for Inclement Weather.

  • Registration, Enrollment, & Withdrawal Fee
    • There is a $35 Registration Fee per family, per school year.
    • Although tuition is billed in 4-week sessions, we assume all students are enrolling through the end of the school year. Please be sure to let us know if you are withdrawing from a class or lesson, so we can update our records.
    • At this time, there is no fee to withdraw from voice lessons or group classes at any time during the year. HOWEVER, if you or your child is considering withdrawing, we ask that you do so prior to February 1st, so we are able to contact those on waitlists and offer a spot to students who still wish to join BEFORE we begin preparing for our June Variety Show.
  • Tuition
    • Tuition is due on the 25th of every month and each payment covers 4 weeks of lessons. For a breakdown of the payment schedule, please see our Studio Calendar or ask at the office. We also include the session weeks in each tuition reminder email.
    • For new students, the INITIAL registration payment (including the first session tuition and registration fee) must be made by cash or check. Once you are in our system, you will have the option to enroll in AutoPay, if you choose. We will also always accept cash or check throughout the season. (You will receive an email upon registering for classes with instructions on how YOU can set up in your portal.)
    • If you choose to enroll in auto pay (via ACH, connecting directly to your checking account:)
      • There will be a 1.5% fee, and auto pay will be run on the 25th of each month for your current account balance.
    • If you choose to enroll in auto pay (via Credit Card:)
      • There will be a 3.5% fee, and auto pay will be run on the 25th of each month for your current account balance.
    • If you do not choose to enroll in auto pay:
      • We will still be accepting cash or check as payment, the same as always, with no additional fees! Payments received after the first of the month will be charged a $10 late fee.
      • **Late fees will be added incrementally. For each month a payment is late, an ADDITIONAL $10 will be billed to your account.
        • For example, if you pay late, you will be billed an additional $10.
        • If you are 2 months late, you will be billed $20 (plus the $10 from the first month, for a total of $30 in late fees.)
        • If you are three months late on your payment, your account will show an additional charge of $30, bringing your total balance for late fees to $60.)
      • Please remember, we do not “want” your late fees. We really just want you to pay on time, so we can pay our bills.

    There will be a $25 fee for any returned checks.

  • No Deduction or Refund Clause

    There will be no deductions or refunds for missed classes, regardless of the reason for absence. Credit may be given for long-term illness or injury, and is based on sole discretion of the owner. There are no refunds or transfers. We appreciate your cooperation on paying in full.

  • Attendance

    Consistent and prompt attendance is critical. Absences and tardiness can hold back an entire class, or hinder your individual progress. If you cannot attend your class or lesson for any reason, please email or call the studio prior to your scheduled time.

  • Make-up Classes
    • GROUP CLASSES: In the event of an absence, a student may attend a make-up class (schedule permitting) any time from September – March. The make-up class must be arranged with the office ahead of time.
    • PRIVATE LESSONS: If a private teacher cancels, a make-up lesson will be scheduled. If a student misses, he/she should make-up in the monthly Sight-Singing/Ear-Training Class. A schedule of these classes is available at the office.
  • Inclement Weather Procedures

    In the event that the studio must close, the outgoing voicemail message will be changed. If possible, an email will go out and the website will be updated, but this is not always possible with power-outages and such. If you are in doubt, be sure to call the studio.

  • Variety Show Participation

    Participation in the Variety Show is NOT mandatory, but encouraged! We do our best to work around conflicts, but once the Show Breakdown is distributed, students must be available for ALL of his/her scheduled performances AND for the MANDATORY dress rehearsal the weekend prior to the show in order to perform.(Be SURE to look at the studio calendar and let us know about dress rehearsal/performance conflicts ASAP- conflicts are worked around on a first-come, first served basis) Costume Fees (which are minimal at GTA) and Account Balances must be paid in full in order to perform in the Variety Show.
