Ted Cherney is about to enter his second year as the Director of Choirs at People’s Prep Charter School in Newark, NJ. In 2016, he graduated from the University of Delaware with a bachelors degree in Music Education. While at UD, Ted participated in a lot of different musical ensembles, like the award-winning a cappella group, Vocal Point. Ted competed in various competitions with Vocal Point and even placed 3rd in the ICCA finals 2013. On top of that, he was a part of numerous choral ensembles including the UD Chorale. Besides singing, Ted also played jazz piano in the Glen Boldman Quartet. The GB4 was a popular jazz quartet that played pop and jazz standards around the Delaware/Philadelphia area. Ted is very excited to start his journey here at Gateway!
