  • Pre-School 1 – 3 yrs (potty trained) – kindergarten (this level will be separated into 2 classes, based on enrollment)

    Pee-Wee – 1st & 2nd grade

    Kids – 3rd & 4th grade

    Tween – 5th & 6th grade

    Teen – 7th grade & up

  • Broadway Kids & Performer’s Prep: Musical Theatre Classes for potty-trained students through 12th grade. Sing, dance, and act in one class! (see individual class descriptions for more information)

    Acting: Acting and Improvisation for students in Pre-K through 12th grade. Kids learn projection, enunciation, and character development, all while building self-confidence and self-awareness. (see individual class descriptions for more information)

    Voice Classes: Group singing class (3rd – 6th grade) and A Cappella classes (4th grade and up)

    Ballet: The foundation for all forms of dance; teaches technique, strength, flexibility, and musicality.

    Pointe: An extension of ballet, done in special Pointe Shoes; enrollment by teacher placement only, must take 2 ballet classes per week.

    Tap: Exploring all styles from “Broadway” to “Rhythm” tap dance; develops style, musicality, and proper tap technique

    Jazz: Teaches technique, turns, leaps and style through a fusion of Musical Theatre, Lyrical/Contemporary, Street and Pop styles.

    Contemporary: Teaches dancers to apply their technique while exploring floor work, partnering, improvisation, fall and recovery, suspension and release, and connecting breath with movement.

    Hip-Hop: High-energy AGE-APPROPRIATE class that infuses the latest styles of street dancing, breaking, popping and locking, encouraging individual style and personality.

    Acrobatics: Basically gymnastic floor work, this class works on flexibility, balance, strength, and muscle control, emphasizing proper dance technique. Basics include handstands, backbends, and cartwheels, and may advance to aerials, handsprings, tucks and layouts.

  • Pre-Broadway Kids (3 yrs – kindergarten) – (45-min)An introduction to our most popular class designed for our littlest aspiring musical theatre performers! Students will play theatre games, learn how to project and enunciate when they speak and act, and learn songs and dances from some of our favorite kid-friendly musicals and movies!

    Broadway Kids 1 (1 hour)

    1st and 2nd grade – Our popular, one-of-a-kind musical theatre class for kids combines singing, acting and musical theatre dance into an hour-long class. Promotes confidence, discipline, basic vocal technique, improvisation ability, and teaches young performers all about life on the stage!

    Broadway Kids 2 (1 hour)

    3rd and 4th grade – Our popular, one-of-a-kind musical theatre class for kids combines singing, acting and musical theatre dance into an hour-long class. Promotes confidence, discipline, basic vocal technique, improvisation ability, and teaches young performers all about life on the stage!

    Broadway Kids 3 (1 hour)

    5th and 6th grade – Our popular, one-of-a-kind musical theatre class for kids combines singing, acting and musical theatre dance into an hour-long class. Promotes confidence, discipline, basic vocal technique, improvisation ability, and teaches young performers all about life on the stage!

    Performer’s Prep 1 (1 hour)

    7th and 8th grade – Our “older” version of Broadway Kids takes the musical theatre prep to the next level, teaching them how to audition and sing in front of a group, exposing them to new music and more intricate musical theatre dance. A favorite class for our teenagers!

    Performer’s Prep 2 (1 hour)

    9th and 10th grade – Our “older” version of Broadway Kids takes the musical theatre prep to the next level, teaching them how to audition and sing in front of a group, exposing them to new music and more intricate musical theatre dance. A favorite class for our teenagers!

    Performer’s Prep 3 (1 hour)

    11th and 12th grade – Our “older” version of Broadway Kids takes the musical theatre prep to the next level, teaching them how to audition and sing in front of a group, exposing them to new music and more intricate musical theatre dance. A favorite class for our teenagers!

  • Pre-Acting/Improv (Kindergarten -2nd grade) – (45-min)

    An introduction to the world of acting and improvisation, young students will create and perform scenes and commercials, as well as act out some of their favorite fairy tales and stories. Through imagination and creativity, kids will gain confidence, body awareness, and teamwork skills in a fun and nurturing environment!

    Kids/Tween Acting (3rd grade – 6th grade) (45 minutes  or 1 hour)

    Students work on monologues, group scenes, and improvisation, all while honing acting technique, diction, projection, body awareness and building self-confidence.

    Teen Acting (7th grade – 12th grade) (1 hour)

    Students work on monologues, group scenes, and improvisation, all while honing acting technique, diction, projection, body awareness and building self-confidence.

  • Kids’/Tween Voice (3rd – 6th)

    A precursor to Private Voice Lessons, this is a wonderful introduction to vocal technique, teaching body alignment, breath support, basic sight-reading, and harmonization, all through age-appropriate songs and activities.

    Teen A Cappella (4th – 12th grade) (45-min, classes are divided by grade) (Private Voice Lessons required)

    For students enrolled in Private Voice Lessons, this class teaches harmony, collaboration, vocal percussion, and focuses on listening and blending to make a cohesive sound.

    Pre-School Dance

    Pre-School Combo: Ballet/Tap (45 min)Our introduction to ballet and tap for 3-5 year-olds (sometimes separated into 2 classes, based on enrollment), this class incorporates singing, imagination, and creativity, while teaching basic dance steps, posture, and rhythm in a structured and positive environment.

    Pre-School Combo:

    Jazz/Acro (45 min)Our introduction to basic jazz and acrobatics for 3-5 year-olds (sometimes separated into 2 classes, based on enrollment), this class incorporates singing, imagination, and creativity, while working on gross motor skills, preliminary strength and flexibility, and age-appro
    priate jazz and tumbling skills.

    Pee-Wee Dance

    Pee-Wee Ballet/Tap 1 (45-min)

    A combination ballet/tap class for 1st and 2nd graders who are new or almost-new to structured dance classes, this class incorporates Ballet (the foundation for all forms of dance) and Tap. In Ballet, students learn basic technique and terminology and begin to build their strength and flexibility both at the barre and with floor work in the center. In Tap, dancers develop coordination, musicality, and rhythm through beginner tap steps and combinations.

    Pee-Wee/Kids Jazz (45-min) (offered based on interest)

    A beginner jazz class for pee-wees and kids in 1st – 3rd grade, this class teaches technique, turns, leaps and style through a fusion of Musical Theatre, Lyrical/Contemporary, Street and Pop styles. It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, but not required, that students also enroll in ballet (the foundation for all forms of dance).

    Pee-Wee Acro (45-min)

    For students in 1st – 3rd grade “Pee-Wee’s,” we teach bridges, cartwheels, forward and backward rolls and, as individual students are ready, backbends and limbers. Students warm-up together, then work individually down the mat on technique, alignment, and basic gymnastic floor work. Acrobats work on flexibility, balance, strength, and muscle control, emphasizing proper dance technique.

    Kids/Tween Dance

    Kids (3rd & 4th grade) and Tween (5th & 6th grade) classes will be combined or separated based on enrollment

    Kids Ballet/Tap 1 (1 hour)

    Tween Ballet/Tap 1 (1 hour)

    A combination ballet/tap class for 5th and 6th graders who are new or almost-new to structured dance classes, this class incorporates Ballet (the foundation for all forms of dance) and Tap. In Ballet, students learn basic technique and terminology and begin to build their strength and flexibility both at the barre and with floor work in the center. In Tap, dancers develop coordination, musicality, and rhythm through beginner tap steps and combinations.

    Kids/Tween Acro 1 (45-min)

    This class is designed for Kids and Tweens in 3rd – 6th grade with little-to-no acrobatics or gymnastics training who wish to learn cartwheels, limbers, bridges/backbends and eventually, as they are ready, walkovers and arabians. Students warm-up together, then work individually down the mat on technique, alignment, and basic gymnastic floor work. Acrobats work on flexibility, balance, strength, and muscle control, emphasizing proper dance technique.

    Kids/Tween Jazz 1 (45-min)

    A beginner jazz class for kids and tweens in 3rd – 6th grade, this class teaches technique, turns, leaps and style through a fusion of Musical Theatre, Lyrical/Contemporary, Street and Pop styles. It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, but not required, that students also enroll in ballet (the foundation for all forms of dance).

    Kids/Tween Hip-Hop (45-min)

    Our hip-hop class for students in 3rd-6th grade, this is a high-energy AGE-APPROPRIATE class that infuses the latest styles of street dancing, breaking, popping and locking, encouraging individual style and personality.

    Kids/Tween Lyrical/Contemporary (45-min)

    Our lyrical/contemporary class for students in 3rd – 6th grade introduces this age group to fluid and lyrical movement, encouraging improvisation, emotional connection, partnering, and use-of-space. In order to take this class, students must ALSO be enrolled in a ballet class during the week, where they will learn technique.

    Teen Dance
    Teen Ballet 1 (45-minute)

    A class designed for teenagers (7th grade and up) who have little-to-no Ballet training. The foundation for all forms of dance, Ballet teaches technique, strength, flexibility, and musicality.

    Teen Tap 1 (45-minute)

    For teenagers (7th grade and up) who have never tapped before, or who haven’t tapped since they were little, this class is a favorite among our teens. Tap dancing develops style, musicality, and coordination, and our Teen Tap classes start with the basics and move at a pace appropriate for older students. Dancers will learn a bit of both “Broadway” tap and “Rhythm” tap, working across the floor and in the center as a class.

    Teen Jazz 1 (45-minute)

    This class, specifically for teenagers in 7th grade and up who have had little-to-no jazz training, teaches technique, turns, leaps and style through a fusion of Musical Theatre, Lyrical/Contemporary, Street and Pop styles. It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, but not required, that students also enroll in ballet (the foundation for all forms of dance).

    Teen Hip-Hop 1 (45 min)

    A high-energy class for teenagers (7th grade and up) which incorporates the latest styles of street dancing, breaking, popping and locking, encouraging individual style and personality.

    Teen Contemporary 1 (45-min)

    For students in 7th grade and up, who are also enrolled in ballet or jazz class at GTA. Contemporary teaches dancers to apply their technique while exploring floor work, partnering, improvisation, fall and recovery, suspension and release, and connecting breath with movement.

  • Hip-Hop/Acro/Tap

    In this hour-long class, boys in kindergarten and up will learn beginning and intermediate skills in hip-hop, acro, and tap. The class is team-taught by 2 male dancers, who will help the guys learn how to warm-up, stretch, and build and strengthen their muscles to help them with flexibility and mobility! They will also learn the fundamentals of tap dance. Students will need clean-sneakers (purchased and worn ONLY for class) and tap shoes. (We do have a shoe donation bin at the studio, which you are welcome to look through!) With 2 great teachers, the boys in this class will be divided into groups, as needed, to cater to the various ages and abilities in the class.
